An Illinois judge has denied bail to R. Kelly who is facing a “slew of federal sex-assault charges.”
Kelly pleaded not guilty during a hearing today to face the 18 charges in two cities, a 13-count indictment in Chicago and a five-count indictment New York.
U.S. District Court Judge Harry Leinenweber denied bail saying that the charges against the R&B star are so serious, they require a presumption of detention.
R. Kelly has not yet faced a judge on the New York charges.
