ABC/Randy HolmesMariah Carey is getting more of a footing in the television world.
The best-selling singer and songwriter has reconnected with the Hallmark Channel, inking a three-picture deal that will entail her developing, executive producing, directing and co-starring in original movies and contributing original new music for each.
According to Deadline, the first movie in the two-year deal is slated to premiere at the beginning of 2017.
The “Vision of Love” chanteuse’s first venture with Hallmark yielded the movie A Christmas Melody last December, which drew 3.9 million viewers. Mariah Carey’s Merriest Christmas musical event was the most-watched holiday special for the network, which sponsored a string of Carey’s sold-out holiday concerts in New York City.
Carey ‘s upcoming docuseries, Mariah’s World — following her international tour — is expected to debut in the fall on the E! network.
