Courtesy BETNew Edition will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award and Chance the Rapper will receive the Humanitarian Award at this year’s BET Awards.
According to Billboard, Chance’s honor is due to his donation of a million dollars to Chicago Public Schools.
As for New Edition, the “Candy Girl” hitmakers have been in the spotlight lately thanks to their top-rated three-part biographical miniseries, which was BET’s first scripted music program.
The 2017 BET Awards will air live on June 25 at 8 p.m. ET from L.A. It’s hosted by Leslie Jones and will feature performances from Bruno Mars, Tamar Braxton, Migos, Trey Songz and Future.
