13 Year Old In Custody After Stealing Car And Police Chase

by

According to WFAA three teens are in custody after allegedly stealing a car and leading police on a high speed chase through five different cities.

Police say the incident began just after 2:30am this morning when they received an aggravated robbery call from the Walgreens store at S. Buckner Boulevard and Bruton Road.

A 2000 Toyota Avalon had been stolen allegedly by a 13-year-old male driver and two male passengers, ages 15 and 17.

As police tried to apprehend them, the trio led them on a chase down I-635. Eventually they stopped chasing them for safety reasons but tracked the car owner’s cell phone which was still inside the vehicle.

The chase went from Garland to Richardson to Addison to Carrollton, and then back to Dallas before ending on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge near downtown Dallas just before 3:30 a.m.

Garland police conducted a “pit maneuver,” tapping the stolen car from behind causing it to spin it out.  No one was injured in the chase.

If the 13 year old were your son, would you take a spoon to his butt like the Baltimore mom?
