90 Tyson Foods Workers Test Positive for COVID-19

by

Following the coronavirus-related deaths of six employees, Tyson Foods officials decided to test the workers at their Tennessee plant — and found that 90 of them are infected. The news has prompted the Metro Public Health Department to launch an investigation into the Goodlettsville-based plant, which is located about 16 miles northeast of Nashville. “The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Tennessee Department of Health and MPHD are working directly with Tyson officials on the steps to mitigate the threat of the disease as part of plant operations,” a statement released Monday by the health department reads. There’s no word on whether the plant has been shut down. Last week, Tyson officials announced that six of their employees had died from COVID-19. Of them, four worked at the company’s Georgia plant and two worked in Iowa.
