Image courtesy Legacy RecordingsOn the third anniversary of Whitney Houston‘s death, Alicia Keys has paid tribute to the late singer, who was found dead in a bathtub in Beverly Hills, California on February 11, 2012.
Keys posted an Instagram picture of herself embracing the legendary singer, whom Keys considered a “sweet friend.”
“Your voice will always be in our hearts forever and your music will light the way for generations to come! Rest In Paradise Sweet Friend. #WhitneyHouston,” wrote Alicia, who appeared on Houston’s last album, 2009’s I Look to You.
Alicia’s husband, Swizz Beatz, also paid homage to Houston, with whom he collaborated. “Blessings to Whitney The Great It was an honor to have worked with such a great soul on your last album #theDeans,” Swizz wrote on Instagram.
Tina Brown, Houston’s sister-in-law, also posted on Facebook a message about the Grammy winner, whose death was ruled a drowning, complicated by cocaine use and heart disease.
“I miss you MY sister…rip nip….I miss you sis,…like crazy!!!!!!-…rip my sister…,” she posted, adding that she was “feeling heartbroken” in the status.
