Three month have passed since Elle Varner revealed that she was dating New York Knicks player Iman Shumpert, but now, the “Refill” singer has confirmed that the pair have split.
The singer revealed the news via Twitter writing, “I’m single…please don’t ask me a million questions, I won’t answer any of them. No drama here just peace and love.”
While Iman has chosen to remain silent on his social media platforms, it seems there was trouble in paradise before they called it quits. In an interview with Vibe earlier this month, Elle admited being in a public relationship can cause a strain on a couple.
“Making a relationship public draws a lot of scrutiny,” she says. “It makes you think about something you were never thinking about before so I don’t know if I would advocate public relations to folks but hey, it is what it is. We’re good.”
In related news, Elle tweeted to her fans that she’s in the “home stretch” of completing her sophomore album, Four Letter Word. The follow-up to last year’s Perfectly Imperfect is due out early next year.
