But she’s not just giving fans new music, she’s also preparing to film the song’s music video in an innovative way.
Badu took to Twitter to reveal that she will use the broadcasting app Periscope to film her music video in real time. “Oops a leak. Second single from mix tape tomorrow Creating live video in real time on PERISCOPE,” she tweeted Thursday.
The singer later revealed that the video will be filmed live from Las Vegas at 7 p.m. ET. “Need to clear up some space on my phone first,” she wrote. “Now is a good time to pull out that selfie stick kids got me for mothers day.”
But You Caint Use My Phone, which is named after a lyric from the singer’s 1997 single “Tyrone,” will be released in coming days. It will mark her first project in five years, since New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh).
