Fantasia Barrino says Jennifer Hudson is one tough cookie after split from David Otunga

by

ABC/Fred WatkinsFantasia believes Jennifer Hudson will be just fine after her recent split from WWE commentator and former fiancé David Otunga

Barrino tells Life & Style magazine of her friend and fellow American Idol alumna, “She’s a tough cookie and she bounces back.”

“I’m proud of her for being where she is right now, after losing some of the things that she lost. I’m proud of her and I want her to find love however that comes for her,” the “I Believe” singer adds.

As previously reported, Hudson and Otunga split in early November. A rep for Hudson said in a statement to ABC News at the time that the former couple were “in the process of ending their relationship for a number of months.” Hudson also requested and received a protective order against Otunga, which, as TMZ now claims, was dropped so she could “avoid a courtroom grilling about abuse allegations [against her] he’s always denied.”

Jennifer and David had been engaged since late 2008 and share a son, eight-year-old David Daniel Otunga Jr.
