John Legend‘s wife, model Chrissy Teigen, graces the cover of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and on Friday, he told Good Morning America that they are “very excited about it.”
Legend says they didn’t know until Thursday afternoon that the photo — in which Teigen poses topless alongside fellow models Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge — was chosen to be the cover.
“She cried like a baby she was so excited,” he says of Teigen’s reaction to the news. “And it was a surprise because you never really know who’s going to be on the cover. …She’s been in the issue for several years now and every year it’s been someone else.”
He adds, “And then this year it’s her, so we’re very excited about it.”
Meanwhile, Tiegen posted several tweets about the cover. “I just cannot believe it. What an honor,” she wrote on Thursday.
The pair have been married since September.
