Kanye West launches first presidential campaign video

by

Kanye: Jeff Kravitz/MTV1415/FilmMagicKanye West has released his first presidential campaign video — just 22 days before the election.

The “Famous” rapper dropped the visuals in a tweet shared on Monday with his over 30 million followers.

“America. What is America’s destiny? What is best for our nation? Our people? What is just? True justice?” he asked as a black-and-white American flag waves in the background.

“We have to think about all these things together as a people. To contemplate our future, to live up to our dream, we must have vision. We as a people will revive our nation’s commitment to faith, to what our constitution calls the free exercise of religion, including, of course, prayer,” West said. “Through prayer, faith can be restored.”

The Yeezy designer goes on to talk about how the country needs to act “on faith,” before the video ends with “I am Kanye West and I approve this message” as the screen displays a text urging voters to write-in his name on the ballot.

Alongside the clip, which runs just under a minute and a half, he wrote, “we stepping out on faith,” and included a link to his website kanye2020.county, where supporters can donate to his camp again, buy merchandise and get more information on what he stands for.

West’s presidential campaign has been full of hiccups including failing to meet some of the requirements and deadlines to be placed on the ballots in certain states.
