Keyshia Cole hints at retiring from the music industry for the sake of her children

by

Moses Robinson/WireImageIt’s been over four years since Keyshia Cole released her last album, 11:11, and it looks like we may be waiting even longer for her next.

While fans on Twitter were praising Keyshia’s vocals on her new single, “I Don’t Want to Be In Love,” the Grammy-nominated R&B singer made a shocking declaration regarding her music career.

“I’m retiring,” tweeted Keyshia.

In another tweet, she said her children, 11-year-old Daniel Gibson Jr. and one-year-old Tobias, are her reason for wanting to retire.

“Come on Keysh so we ain’t getting the album no more. I’m about to cry,” tweeted one fan, regarding Keyshia’s forthcoming studio album.

“No. I’m already contracted to do so, I wouldn’t do that to @BMG, myself or my fans,” Keyshia responded. “But I’m gonna have to move at my pace with this one. #album8”

Keyshia released “I Don’t Want to Be In Love,” weeks after her legendary Verzuz battle with R&B princess Ashanti last January. Last November, Keyshia announced she was “banging” out songs for her new album in her home studio. It was months after being spotted in the studio with fellow Grammy-nominated R&B singer Lucky Daye.

Fans are hoping Keyshia’s eighth studio album will address her breakup with Niko Khale, the father of her second son, or her recently finalized divorce from ex-husband Daniel Gibson, the father of her first son.
