Photo Credit: Derek BlanksIt’s been almost a year since we’ve heard new music from LeToya Luckett, who last recruited T.I. for the remix of her latest single, “Don’t Make Me Wait.” However, the singer tells ABC Radio she’s planning to release new music as well as debut a new television show next month.

“In February, I’m releasing a TV show and a single at the same time, so Here We Go Again, which will be premiering on TV One February 9, you guys can look out for that, and you can look out for my brand-new single as well around that time,” she says.

Toya, who has been focusing on various acting projects lately instead of her music, adds, “I got to find a way to balance both, because I love both of them, I’m passionate about both.”

The singer knows her fans have been waiting anxiously for new material. “My music fans get upset when I say anything close to the fact, like, ‘I’m not singing or I’m not making albums anymore.’ If that rumor comes out, they get all like antsy about it and I’m like, ‘No, that’s not true, I’m going to make albums forever,'” she says.

So in what direction is LeToya headed for her first album in five years? “It’s R&B. It’s basically about my growth process. I’m taking my time with it,” Toya says. “I started the album a while back and I was in a different place then, but I think I want to take y’all on a journey with me, that’s what I want to do more than anything and I hope you enjoy it.”

Toya has yet to announce the release date for her upcoming effort, tentatively titled Until Then. The follow-up to 2009’s Lady Love will include the lead single, “I’m Ready,” as well as contributions from Eric Bellinger and producers like Joe Black, Harmony Samuels and songwriter Sick Pen.
