Prince to Release New Project, The Hit & Run Album

by

Warner Bros. RecordsPrince is putting the finishing touches on his 38th album, titled The Hit & Run Album.

As expected, the reclusive singer has remained mum on the project, however, his band 3rd Eye Girl revealed to BBC that the upcoming project, named after their pop-up concert tour, is arriving “soon.”

“It’s phenomenal, there are so many hits on this album. It’s super experimental. Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he’s ever recorded — we refer to them as ‘The Purple Collective’ or ‘The Purple Army’ — this album is absolutely for them, because it’s super funky,” the band revealed.  “It’s weird, there’s a lot of experimental sound. It’s just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic Purple Rain Prince sound.”

The disc will include new versions of “This Could Be Us” and the previously unreleased tune “1,000 Hugs & Kisses,” as well as the first single “HARDROCKLOVER.”
