‘Rio 2’ Soundtrack Featuring New Janelle Monae Song Out March 25

Kevin Estrada/Blue Sky Studios/Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp.Janelle Monae is not only making her voice acting debut in the upcoming animated film Rio 2, but she also is featured on the movie’s soundtrack, which now has a release date.

The funky singer has penned a new song called “What Is Love” for the album Rio 2: Music from the Music Picture, arriving in stores March 25.

“Yes!!! #Rio2 soundtrack & artists revealed!! So happy & I got to write “What is Love” for this movie!'” she tweeted on Tuesday.

The soundtrack also features Ester Dean‘s “Rio Rio” featuring B.o.B as well as Jamie Foxx, Bruno Mars and his longtime musical collaborator Phillip Lawrence, among others.

Rio 2 will be in theaters April 11. In addition to Anne Hathaway, it features the voice talents of Jesse Eisenberg, Andy Garcia, Rita Moreno and many more.
