Mario Testino, Vogue, 2015 Don’t expect to find Grammy Award winner The Weeknd at any upcoming shows — as the singer says the reason he pulled out of almost every major upcoming commitment, including the European leg of Rihanna’s Anti tour, was so he could focus on new music.
“Creatively, some magic is happening right now, and I don’t want to lose it,” The Weeknd tells Vogue. “It could be an album or it could be something else, but whatever it is, music is being made.”
The singer tells the magazine he’s currently working with the team he worked with on his 2011 debut mixtape, House of Balloons. “But it’s a new thing,” he says. “Always a new thing.”
Earlier this week The Weeknd performed with Nas, at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Met Gala, where he rocked the A-list, fashionably dressed crowd with a four-song set.
