Peter Kramer/NBCBack in September, Lifetime announced that Toni Braxton was newest celebrity to be featured in its high-profile biopics. Now, the network has decided on a cast and official air date for Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart.
According to The Wrap, newcomer Lex Scott Davis will play Toni as she chronicles her rise to fame, illness, financial troubles and divorce while navigating her son’s autism and family struggles. The narrative is based on the Grammy-winning diva’s memoir.
Directed by Vondie Curtis Hall , the two-hour film is being executive produced by Braxton and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.
You can expect the original made-for-TV movie to air Saturday, January 23 at 8 p.m. ET. An hour-long special, Beyond the Headlines: Toni Braxton, featuring interviews with Braxton, her family and others, will air immediately following at 10 p.m.
