Trump reportedly rejected bailout package for US Postal Service

by

While the U.S. Postal Service promises to deliver “through rain, sleet and hail” they could use some help during a pandemic.  The White House, however, blocked emergency funding for the USPS’s 600,000 workers, with the US Treasury Secretary saying that if the Postal Service got any funding, the President would have vetoed the $2.2 trillion economic relief bill. That’s when Congress stepped in to add a $10 billion Treasury Department loan that would keep the USPS afloat until Spring. If the USPS doesn’t receive additional money it could go completely broke by September 30th. Many in the White House says that the Postal Service could stop losing money if it just raised its delivery prices to compete with Amazon and others. 19 postal workers have died from Coronavirus.  500 have tested positive and nearly 500 others are presumed positive.

Why do you think there is such a stall or possible complete rejection to bail out the U.S. Postal Service?
