On Friday, R.Kelly’s ex-girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage posted a message on her Instagram saying she was going to speak out. She has partnered with Patreon. They are a membership based platform that allows artists to provide exclusive content to subscribers or “patrons.” In her first episode she said she was kidnapped and brainwashed by R.Kelly. She said that she had to refer to him as “Master” or “Daddy.” If she didn’t call him by one of his two names he became angry. His assistants never spoke to her but were always watching her. She never had privacy. If she was in the shower one of his assistants had to be by the door. Savage has been away for Robert for over four months and maybe she has had time to mentally separate herself from his control. She is being criticized for using the Patreon platform so that she can make the money off of her story not like YouTube, where they make the money and you get crumbs.
