Delayed IRS Tax Day Has Arrived

Due to COVID-19 , ‘Tax Day’ April 15, 2020 was automatically extended for 90 days. Tax-payer’s received a break in the Spring when the IRS extended the April 15, 2020 income tax deadline to July 17, 2020.  That deadline is here and you still have time to file by midnight plus you can file electronically for free at irs.gov.  You can also file for an extension here. 

If you filed your return by mail you can expect a delay in receiving your refund.

Due to the Coronavirus shutdown the IRS. is still processing paper returns but there is a large backlog. The IRS said there is about 5 million pieces of unopened mail.
