Ex-football star and GMA host Michael Strahan, the daughter of astronaut Alan Shepard, and four others flew into space on Saturday as part of Blue Origin’s latest spaceflight. The 11-minute flight was the third for Blue Origin, the space travel company started by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Blue Origin’s rocket, New Shepard, is named for astronaut Alan Shepard, the first American to fly into space back in 1961. His oldest daughter, Laura Shepard Churchley, was part of the crew.
The crew also made history with Lane Bess and his son Cameron, the first parent-and-child duo to ever travel into space together. Would you like to attempt a spaceflight, or would you rather stay here on good old Earth? This is one experience I’ll pass on.
