I am sad to share that Hip Hop legend and founder of the group De La Soul Dave Trugoy ‘The Dove’ has died. Details are unavailable at this time as this is a developing story. Dave had been struggling with his health over the past few years. and in 2018 he shared on Instagram that he was dealing with congestive heart failure. He was hospitalized in 2020 and appeared live on Instagram saying he was concerned about his recovery. De La Soul’s classic music has not been available on streaming services due to the legal issues the group has had with Tommy Boy Records involving contracts and samples. A deal had been reached and the music was to be available to fans. It is was going to be a big year for the group. His real name is Dave Jolicoeur, he was 54. Rest In Peace Dave ‘The Dove’.
