Davis’ daughter, Regan Hopper, and fellow Green Beret Ron Deis spoke about how deserving Davis is of the highest accolades in the U.S. military. According to the Army, in June 1965, then-Captain Davis and his team fought for nearly 19 hours inside a North Vietnamese army base in the village of Bong Son, making him one of the first Black officers to oversee a special forces team.
