When the vote was taken on the floor only two of them, two Black men were expelled and the white representative Gloria Johnson was not. All three participated in a protest led by students and parents, after a horrific school shooting a week earlier in Nashville.
This stunt was outrageous and the ousted lawmakers’ have been celebrated across the nation for their courage.
