As we salute the fallen this Memorial Holiday I thought it would be nice to share the role of African Americans in Military History. Did you know it was 1865 a group of former slaves started Memorial Day in America. It occurred in Charleston South carolina, to honor 257 dead Union Soldiers who had been buried in a mass grave in a Confederate prison camp. Read more from AA Registry here.
