When Busy Phillips asked LaBelle what advice she gives to younger artists, she said, “Keep your clothes on.”
LaBelle said she’s had to have discussions with her goddaughter Mariah Carey about that. LaBelle said, “I have to slap her every now and then. But she’s so phenomenal and so good, she doesn’t need to be slapped anymore. That’s my baby.”
