The Washington Football Team just made history with its new front office hire.  The team announced Jason Wright as its new president, making him the first black team president in league history.  Wright is a former NFL running back who spent time as a partner at management consulting firm McKinsey & Company.  Appearing on Good Morning America on Monday, Wright said the job was “an opportunity to bring together my two worlds in a really unique way” and that “the fact that I happen to be black and the most qualified person for this is a boost”.  Are you surprised that there hasn’t been a black team president before now?  Why is the NFL so slow to hire black head coaches and GMs?
