Ben Carson is being dragged for saying poverty is a state of mind. During a radio interview yesterday, the HUD secretary said, “I think poverty to a large extent is also a state of mind.” He also said, “You take somebody who has the right mindset, you can take everything from them and put them on the street and I guarantee you in a little while they’ll be right back up there. And you take somebody with the wrong mindset, you can give them everything in the world, they’ll work their way right back down to the bottom.” The things is, everybody reacts differently to adversity. Some are better than others. Someone who struggles with an issue or crisis is not less of a person than someone who handles it better. It’s how we help each other that defines us really. More here.
