Ever wonder what Karrueche Tran was going through during her tumultuous relationship with Chris Brown? Well, his on-again, off-again girlfriend has seemingly opened up about how she handled the negative criticisms she received while dating the singer.
It’s no secret that Tran found herself in a love triangle with Breezy and his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, which was a situation that was widely reported in the media. “I was going through a situation that we all are very familiar of. I had a lot of criticism and comments about my current situation at the time,” Tran says in the new issue of Annex magazine. “It was honestly very hard to deal with because people were saying really cruel things.”
The model adds, “Having to go through a rough time and then on top of that, having to deal with a ton of BS was a bit overwhelming. I stayed strong and it made me a strong person.”
After ending her relationship with Brown last month, Tran gave her best advice for anyone dealing with adversity: “Never allow people’s opinions to justify your life. Live your life because at the end of the day, you’ve only got you.”
Meanwhile, Brown remains in jail for failing to remain in a court-ordered rehab program; a probation violation hearing is scheduled for a Los Angeles court late next month.
