Stevie Wonder will be presented with a Pass on Blessings award on May 18 at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta for his efforts to promote peace and justice through music.
The Pass on Blessings Awards are bestowed by the Andrew J. Young Foundation, whose namesake served as a U.S. Congressman, a United Nations Ambassador and the mayor of Atlanta after working side by side with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on civil-rights issues.
This year’s other honorees, whose work shaped Atlanta in some fashion or helped unify America, include Baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron, who while playing for the Atlanta Braves in 1974 broke Babe Ruth‘s career home-run record.
