Independent Review of Smollett Case Dismissal

by

In Chicago, the embattled Cook County State’s Attorney has called for an independent investigation into how her office handled the case against actor/singer Jussie Smollett.

Even the Kim Foxx, recused herself from the investigation after Smollett became a suspect, she has been targeted after her office dismissed all charges connected to an alleged homophobic, racist attack.  A number of Cook County police chiefs have demanded that she resign.

Charges were dropped weeks after Smollett was charged and subsequently indicted by a Cook County grand jury.

The Cook County Inspector General’s Office will do the review.

Many are wondering the motive behind the INTENSE backlash against Ms. Foxx.   Illinois Congressman Bobby Rush (a former Black Panther) has chimed in the suggesting that the backlash is racial and labeling the Chicago police union the, quote  “sworn enemy of black people” in defense of Foxx.

Kimberly M. Foxx is an American politician, currently serving as the State’s Attorney for Cook County, Illinois. She manages the nation’s second largest prosecutor’s office and oversees an office of over nearly 800 attorneys and 1,500 employees. She was elected to this position on November 8, 2016.
