The project sold more than 16,000 copies in its first week in stores — significantly less than the sales of her first solo project, 2011’s Late Nights & Early Mornings, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with 96,400 copies sold.

I am extremely proud of this album and I thank all of my fans for their support,” Marsha said in a statement. “The love and lust put into this body of work, the real life experiences it took to create it openly and honestly. I am happy that it is available for all to hear, the new soundtrack to your love life.”

Led by the singles “Run” and “Stronger,” Friends and Lovers features collaborations with Dr. Dre and Charlie Wilson.
