Last week more details emerged on the story that Brett Favre and the former Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant diverted at least $5million of the state’s welfare fund to pay for a new volleyball arena for the University of Southern Mississippi. The most recent report from ESPN says that Favre was warned that using the funds that was meant for poor people in the poorest state in the country would be in violation of Federal Law. According to Bleacher Report Favre’s daughter played volleyball for the university at the time. This has been one of the most overlooked stories of the week.
