Coco Gauff’s U.S. Open Title Match Sets ESPN Viewing Records

(AP Photo/John Minchillo) Not only is Coco Gauff the first American to win the U.S. Open since 2017, her tennis match on September 9th received the highest viewership out of the whole tournament. ESPN reported that 3.4 million people tuned in to witness the 19-year-old dazzle the crowd with a three-set victory over former #1 seed Aryna Sabalenka. This is a new record-high for women’s tennis on ESPN.
