Serena Williams To Be Inducted Into National Women’s Hall Of Fame

(Photo by Evan Agostini/Invision/AP) Tennis star Serena Williams and civil rights icon Ruby Bridges have been added to the National Women’s Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024. Williams won 23 Grand Slam championships during her career and holds the record for most time spent ranked #1 in the world. She retired from tennis last year. Bridges made headlines at just six years old, as one of the first Black schoolchildren to attend desegregated schools in New Orleans in 1960. She has been the subject of books, movies, and a Norman Rockwell painting and chairs the Ruby Bridges Foundation. They’ll be inducted alongside eight other women in March, during Women’s History Month.
