Michael Jackson Estate Slams Auctioneers For Bogus ‘Thriller’ Jacket

An auction house is under scrutiny for unauthorized auction of an imitation of the original garment, listing it as a “Thriller style” jacket according the Michael Jackson estate (AP Photo/Matt Sayles) The Michael Jackson estate is contesting an upcoming auction of a “Thriller” jacket, claiming that MJ never wore the jacket in the well-known music video.  The estate’s attorney sent a letter to the auction house clarifying that only two genuine “Thriller” jackets were worn in the film, and the one up for auction was not among them.  The estate is concerned that the auction listing could mislead the public and impact MJ’s brand value. The auction house has since updated the title an d description of the jacket to reflect that it is a “Thriller style” jacket, but the controversy continues among MJ fans. The drama for the Michael Jackson continues over a decade after his untimely death.
