Sam Smith has learned that the issues with his vocal chords will require surgery and he’s now been forced to cancel all of his May and June tour dates to recuperate.
“I am very upset to announce I have been battling to get my vocal cords better the last 10 days,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “But unfortunately they haven’t recovered and I am going to need surgery. I’m so gutted to be missing all the shows and events I was meant to be playing at.”
Smith who suffered a vocal hemorrhage during a show in Australia on April 28th, says that his recovery should take up to eight weeks and he plans to resume his tour on July 5th.
He should be all healed up and ready when he plays the Verizon Theater August 17th. Click HERE to win your way in.
