Savage was charged with domestic battery for the incident with Azriel Clary at Kelly’s residence at Trump Tower, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Wednesday was the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer’s 53rd birthday.

Clary told police that she and Savage were “engaged in a verbal altercation that became physical,” and claims that Savage struck her “in the face.”

Savage fled the scene and Clary was treated at Northwestern Hospital.

Authorities says that at approximately 6:07 p.m., Savage turned herself in. She was charged with battery and a February 6 court date was set.

Clary posted an Instagram live video of the argument which was captured by TMZ. In the video, Savage calls Clary “disrespectful” and “evil.” Clary shouts at Savage that someone is going to jail for “sleeping with me as a minor”  — but according to TMZ, she was referring to sleeping with Savage, not Kelly.

The two women were featured in the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries which aired in January 2019. The follow-up, Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning, was broadcast last weekend. In The Reckoning, it was reported that Clary was no longer living at Kelly’s condo and had reunited with her family, while Savage continues to live there.

As previously reported, after an impostor posted claims on social media that Savage was a victim, Savage denied she was abused by the three-time Grammy-winning singer.

Kelly is currently in federal custody in Chicago and is scheduled to stand trial in April on 13 federal charges related to child pornography and obstruction of justice. He faces 26 other state and federal counts for  criminal sexual abuse, bribery, sexual exploitation of a child, and racketeering.
