It’s no secret that Estelle has been hard at work on her forthcoming album, True Romance, but she’s remained mum on the guest features. Although she has yet to announce collaboration details, the singer has dished fun tidbits from artists that she’s already worked with.
In an interview with Fuse, the singer recalls logging studio time with heavy-hitters like Kanye West, who she worked with on 2008’s”American Boy.”
“Kanye is like cousin Yeezy. I love him. I don’t care what anyone says! Kanye taught me one of the most valuable lessons in my career, and that’s quality control,” she says. “We would go in the studio … and to me, it was just amazing to sit down or be in there at any given time, and really not leave the studio until everything was amazing.”
She also remembers teaming with Robin Thicke, who she describes as “a real band leader,” and Chris Brown, who she feels “walks the fine line of crazy genius.”
Given her track record, its possible that Estelle will call on more of her famous friends to contribute to True Romance, which is slated to arrive November 4 via her independent label, Established 1980 Inc.
