First black woman to become Mayor of San Francisco. History has been made. London Breed will be sworn in today as the first African American woman of San Francisco, a city that has only a 6% African American population. The new mayor pledges to address homelessness, open drug use, and unbearably high housing. She succeeds Mayor Ed Lee who passed away unexpectedly last December.
