Sesame Place Apologizes for Parade Snub

by

Sesame Place has issued an apology after a video of characters ignoring Black girls went viral.
The Philadelphia-based theme park said in a statement posted to Instagram that it stands for “inclusivity and equality in all forms.”
The statement went on to say that the person playing the character Rosalita in the video is “devastated by the misunderstanding and that the ‘no’ gesture wasn’t directed at the two Black girls.” Instead, the gesture was directed at someone who wanted the character to take a picture while holding their baby.
In a second statement, the park made a vow to “do better.” While the park works with employees the family in the video has lawyered up and other videos of the same behavior have surfaced.
