Women’s History Month Salute Opal Lee Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize

Help us kick off Women’s History Month and celebrate Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth’, she has been nominated for a 2022 Noble Peace Prize. Through her 40 plus years of activism she worked tirelessly to get Juneteenth established as a national holiday.  The 91-year-old finally had her dream become a reality when Juneteenth became a national holiday in 2021. Read more here from Star-Telegram.
