TMZ reports that the investigation was started quietly “months ago” after Ice Cube claimed that the NBA tried to hold down his league, which would violate antitrust laws. Officials at Big3 also believe the NBA has held back current players, referees, and team governors of holding them back from investing in Ice Cube’s league. After meeting with the Department of Justice earlier this year, they could face large fines if the NBA is found guilty.
